Luxury Appliances and Fine Dining- A Night Out At Roth Living
Last night I had the fortunate opportunity to participate in a fun night at the Sub Zero, Wolf and Cove Showroom at Roth Living. This was a great evening where I learned an incredible amount about several of the appliance lines they have to offer all while enjoying some amazing food and wine prepared by their in-house chef.
The evening began on the main showroom floor with Champagne and hors d’oeuvres while we explored the fully functional kitchens throughout the floor.
Along with the kitchens the showroom also has several rows of ranges and refrigerators setup to showcase a large segment of the Sub Zero, Wolf and Cove product lines. After listening to Chef Ben Davis talk about a few of the customizations that can be made with the Wolf Range and oven it became very clear that there is a Wolf configuration for every need or preference.
Following our time on the showroom floor we headed upstairs for the main event. I was seated with consumers who were either in the process of building, renovating or are Sub Zero and Wolf owners. We were welcomed once again by Chef Ben Davis where he started to discuss the benefits and pitfalls of the Wolf induction cooktop. He explained the importance of having the proper pans to function properly as well as the perceived downfalls of induction cooktops such as the ability to scratch the cooktop surface. As he spoke he prepared the almond brittle on the cooktop as part of the dessert we would enjoy later in the evening.
Ultimately the decision between gas and induction is based more on personal preference while also taking into consideration the foods the owner is cooking the most.
As we continued our experience we were served a wonderful Chardonnay and grilled qual on a bed of spinach and cherries. This was the first opportunity Chef Ben had the opportunity to use the outdoor grill and this course was delicious.
Next, Chef Ben moved over to the gas range and spoke about the griddle option and how flexible it truly is. He prepared for us a poached fish in olive oil and served over a mushroom cap that had the consistency of a steak cooked medium rare. Most people are familiar with cooking on a gas range but Wolf has taken things a step further and each burner has dual stacked burners. One emits a much more intense flame ideal for boiling while the other is much less intense and ideal for simmering or keeping a sauce warm.
The main course of the evening utilized one of the most technologically advanced ovens available. The Wolf convection steam oven has endless benefits. Engineered with a climate sensor, Wolf convection steam ovens ensure flavorful results that are always guesswork-free. Chef Ben utilized the temperature probe after searing a beef tenderloin on the grill. He inserted the probe, set the temperature he wanted the tenderloin cooked at and the time he wanted it ready and let the oven do the rest of the work. As you can see from the image below, the results were tremendous.
Our evening concluded with a flavorful dessert and discussion with Chef Ben as he went from table to table answering any questions we may have had. I left for the evening thoroughly impressed with both the product and the service that the Roth Living showroom provides.
